Introduction
Lord Tennyson remarks aptly-“Old order changeth yielding place to new”. Change is the law of nature. Nothing is permanent in this world. Sometimes, the pace of change is quick and sometimes, it is slow. In the present age, everything is passing through a great change. We are so much confused by this process of change that we cannot say definitely how the future will shape. Everyday, we find ourselves different from what we pere yesterday.
Complete equality in India in 2000
The wings of my imagination carried me to India of 2000 A. D. I was filled with sorrow to find that India of 2000 had undergone many great changes. I was delighted also to see some good changes therein, I was happy to see a great deal of social progress in India. Irrespective of caste, creed and colour, all the high and the low were enjoying equal privileges. All the people of India were believing in the fatherhood of God and brotherhood of man. Every person was full of the spirit of patriotism, goodwill and love. Truth and non-violence had become the guiding principles of the people. Women had equal rights as compared with men. The evils like purdah-system, early marriage, caste-system and dowry-system were completely wiped out. Most of the women were sharing with men the burden of administration in various departments of Government and life..
The political condition in India in 2000
The political condition of India had made a great headway. The superfluous political parties had disappeared from the country. There were only two political-parties-the Jan Sangh and the Socialist. All the people enjoyed full facilities and freedom. Communalism was not the cock-pit of political bickerings. New blood had entered the politics of India and all the veteran leaders of political parties had retired from Indian politics. There was perfect harmony in the political atmosphere of the nation.
Education and culture in India in 2000
There was great deal of development in education and culture. Hindi had become the medium of instruction in all the colleges and universities of India. New incentives were given to art, literature and culture. The western people were enlightened by the spiritual light of the holy men of India. The gave up their superiority complex and looked to India for guidance. In short, India had become the fountain-head of knowledge, inspiration and guidance for all the other civilized nations of the world.
Indian administration in 2000
Many great changes had taken place in the new administration of India 2000. There was no corruption, nepotism and looseness in the administration. The police had shaken off its corruption and high handedness. It became a source of service and security to the people. There were no thieves and dacoits. The ministers were honest servants of the people. The businessmen believed in fair dealings. They did not believe in black marketing and hoarding. The ministers were not allowed to celebrate their birth anniversaries.
Food situation in 2000
India in 2000 was self-dependent in food ere sufficient means of grains. Agriculture was developed remarkably. The “Grow more food campaign had become a success. There irrigation to the farmers. Every inch of land was under the plough. The crops were improved with the help of scientific methods of cultivation. Villages were turned into good towns and towns were ex tented. Many factories and mills were established in the various parts of the country. There was not a single man having sound mind and sound body who was suffering from unemployment. There was no conflict between the employer and the employee. Every Indian was well-fed, well-clad and well-educated.
Conclusion
The above-painted picture of India in 2000 is the creation of my imagination. The fight of imagination can become a fact if India can solve her major problems by controlling her population and increasing her food production. There is no half-way solution. Action on these two fronts must be taken side by side as, single neither any improvement in agricultural output nor any reduction in birth rate can go very far. If these two problems are not solved, history’s biggest famine will take place. India his now more then fifty five million population. Half of the people are under nourished, either lacking enough food or enough of the proteins, vitamins and minerals that are necessary for good health. The constant companion of these people are lethargy, disease and premature death, treating a life-cycle of human beings powerless to break out of their misery, yet capable of breading another generation to live in misery.
